About Campus Web Managers

In July 2000, the Office of the Provost asked that all UF unit heads appoint Web managers. Web managers serve as the primary contact for a unit's Web site(s) and are responsible for ensuring that they are in compliance with university policy. At the college and division level, web managers are administratively responsible for the main pages of their unit and also serve as a point of contact between the UF Web Administration and the managers for each of the offices, departments, centers, etc. that fall under that college or division.

In the spring of 2009, the IT Academic Technology Committee sponsored the reconstitution of the Web Policy Group to help formulate standards, policies, and best practices. The group is composed of webmasters from across the University of Florida, and membership is open to all.
